How do I make money from the AFCNA? |
There are several ways that members can profit from their membership in
the AFCNA. First, members are paid dividends each year that the
cooperative shows a profit from its operations. The amount of the
dividend is based on the amount and quality of fiber that the member
had invested in the cooperative for that year. The more fiber and the
higher quality of the fiber invested will result in higher dividends to
the member.
Second, all members have an opportunity to purchase America's Alpaca
products at wholesale prices. Members may use these products to promote
their farms and their alpaca businesses. In addition, they may purchase
sufficient quantities of product to market from their farm or ranch
stores. Members choosing to retail products gain a more immediate
return on their investment by the revenues generated from these sales.
Their immediate profit is the difference between the retail price and
the wholesale price.
