Incorporated in 1998, The Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America, Inc. (AFCNA) is an agricultural cooperative formed and wholly owned by North American alpaca fiber producers. To become an AFCNA shareholder, you must be an alpaca owner and purchase one share of voting common stock.
Finding a way to develop and maximize the value of American produced fiber is what AFCNA is all about. We invite you to join us in this exciting journey and help us even more firmly establish the alpaca fiber business as a viable industry. Remember, the future IS the fiber!
AFCNA offers several ways for shareholders to profit from their alpaca fiber business.
- Receive credit for your fiber contribution
- Receive your proportionate share of profits from AFCNA products sold
- Purchase AFCNA goods at discounted prices for personal use, resale at farm stores, etc.
- Become an Affiliate on www.americasalpaca.com. We will create a link from your website to Americas Alpaca and if a retail order is placed you will recieve 20% of that sale.
When you join AFCNA, you become a member of an established community of alpaca breeders who are producing quality alpaca products in the USA on an industrial scale. Shareholders provide the capital for the business to operate, the fiber to make the products and take responsibility as member/owners to help improve and promote alpaca products.
AFCNA is headquartered in Decatur, Tennessee where a small permanent staff provides cooperative administration, product manufacturing management, product sales & fulfillment (packing & shipping) and customer services. A 7 to 15 Member elected, volunteer Board of Directors guides AFCNA’s business and finances.
AFCNA has developed a market, created products, supports wholesale and retail customer and provides support for AFCNA shareholders. We are working together to develop and market American made alpaca products!
Since its founding, AFCNA has grown to over 1,500 shareholders. We welcome all North American alpaca owners to join our Co-op and work with us to build a sustainable and successful alpaca fiber industry.
