Joining the Alpaca Fiber Cooperative
We welcome all North American alpaca fiber producers into our Cooperative.
To join you must be an alpaca fiber producer and purchase one share of common stock. We ask that you also commit to submit to the Co-op a portion of your annual fiber clip, and to patronize our Cooperative by purchasing product and supplies through AFCNA.
AFCNA shareholders are a visionary group that believe the best way to develop an alpaca fiber industry that promotes and protects the interests of the producer is by working together cooperatively. AFCNA is a democratically controlled organization that operates "at cost", returning all net income to its fiber producing shareholders.
Joining the Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America, Inc. means joining with a growing number of like minded alpaca fiber producers that believe we can advance our common interests by working together.
Eligibility
The opportunity to become an AFCNA shareholder is open to any North American producer of alpaca fiber.
Our Cooperative includes some of the largest alpaca farms in the United States, as well as many fiber producers owning only a few alpacas. Being a Cooperative, each shareholder has one vote regardless of size, insuring democratic control of the organization. Financial returns are always proportional to the individual shareholder's participation in the Cooperative's business activities.

Responsibilities
AFCNA shareholders are expected to support the business activities of the Cooperative, which may include:

Submission of a portion of annual clip to the Co-op

Purchasing of products produced by or made available through the Co-op

Participation in elections and Cooperative decision making

Consider participation in volunteer roles, including elected positions, committees, etc.
